About Me

My photo
John Galt
I live the life of the average American male. I go to work everyday, trying to self-improve as much as possible to ensure some kind of security in this world. At 40, all I can say is, "there is no security". Perhaps there never was. Despite the evidence that dreaming doesn't always produce, I still fill many moments of the day, thinking about inventing that terrific piece of software that nets me millions, or starting my own consulting firm. I come home, mentally tired, to my half of the duplex, with many things running through my mind: work aggravations, bills, saving money. I put the key in my latch, and open the door to see my waiting dog, Phoebe. She does her 'dance of joy' as I empty my pockets and make a big deal out of seeing my Golden Retriever, as if I haven't gone through the same surprise every day for the past 9 years. I hug her and talk to her for a minute, then ask if she's ready to go pee. I let her out into the yard, grab the door frame to stretch as I watch her sniff around for the perfect spot to do her business, and realize that...it isn't such a bad life, after all.
